At Altar Body Arts we offer clients a private experience. During your appointment, the only people in the studio will be staff and the current clients.
Our appointments are structured in a way that we have ample time to talk about piercing, lifestyle, hobbies, choose jewelry, and perform the procedures, without feeling rushed.
Appointments are highly encouraged.
While we try to accommodate walk-in clients, we are unable to assist them if we are working with another client.
Making an appointment will guarantee that you are seen on time, at the time of your visit, and are given the attention that you deserve.
With a focus on safety and precision, our piercers at Altar Body Arts use only the highest quality jewelry and equipment to ensure a clients the best experience possible. From earlobe piercings to more complex body piercings, we've got you covered.
Our clients health and safety are our number one priority. Our piercing appointments are 45 minutes for one piercing, and longer as more services are selected. We use this time to get to know our clients, to make sure that the piercings that they are interested in will work out with their lifestyle, and so that we can ensure the best experience possible.
For any clients under the age of 18, you will need to have a parent or legal guardian present. Both the parent and the child need to have photo ID, as well as a birth certificate, or guardianship paperwork.
We offer earlobe piercing services to children 5 years and up for earlobes.
We encourage the parents of apprehensive children to make an appointment for a consultation before making a piercing appointment, this way, the child has a chance to see the studio, we can go over jewelry and how it works, talk about the procedure, and how to take care of them, and become comfortable with everything beforehand.

Our options for most piercings include ASTM-F136 Titanium, ASTM-F138 Stainless Steel, Solid Gold, Gold with Gems.

She started her career in Ohio, and after taking time away from piercing to pursue a career in bartending and restaurant management, she returned to the body piercing industry as the manager of Piercology, in Columbus, OH.
In 2017 she relocated to California for a position working as a jewelry specialist in San Francisco at Cold Steel America. Within a year, she had started piercing at Blue Star Tattoos, Braindrops, and Make Me Holey.
After 5 years, Steve had an opportunity to relocate to Washington, and Shana followed shortly after.
For the next few years, she and Steve looked for the perfect location for Altar, finally finding it in 2024.
Shana enjoys assisting clients in choosing piercing location, jewelry setups, and designing custom jewelry pieces.
